We Are Never Alone
As the Easter season draws us closer to Pentecost, today’s readings shine with a promise that can lift our hearts: we are never alone. In John 14:15-21, Jesus speaks words of comfort and courage, assuring His disciples that the Advocate–the Holy Spirit–will be with them forever. This is not just a distant hope but a living reality: God’s presence walks with us in every joy, every trial, every quiet moment of our lives.
In Acts 8:5-8, 14-17, we see the Spirit’s power at work through Philip’s mission in Samaria. Healing, joy and unity spring forth–proof that God’s love knows no boundaries. The Spirit moves beyond walls and divisions, igniting hope where it seemed impossible.
Meanwhile, 1 Peter3:15-18 calls us to be ready to share the reason for our hope, but to do so with gentleness and respect. This is the heart of Christian witness–not loud proclamations but lives so rooted in Christ’s peace that others are drawn to the light we carry.
Therefore, today’s message is a gentle yet powerful reminder: God’s love is alive and moving—the Spirit is working in and through us. We are held and guided—Christ’s promise never fades. Our lives can be a beacon–pointing others toward the joy of the risen Lord.
As we journey toward Pentecost, may we open wide the doors of our hearts, allowing the Spirit to fill us with courage, compassion and joy. For wherever the Spirit is, there is life and that life is meant to be shared. Let us open our hearts to welcome and work together with the Holy Spirit to spread the Good News to others.

Help Not Harm: Take Action to Support
Bill C-218
Cardinal Leo has written to Prime Minister Carney and to all Members of Parliament regarding Bill C-218 and the rapid expansion of euthanasia and assisted suicide in Canada. Please e-mail your Member of Parliament, asking for their support of Bill C-218 (The Right to Recover Act), which would amend the Criminal Code to prevent Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) from being provided when mental illness is the sole underlying condition. We are called to offer care, hope, and protection—not death—to those who are suffering and most vulnerable. Write your Member of Parliament today! And ask your MP to support Bill C-218.
