Today, the Church celebrates Easter Sunday, and it bursts forth with the life-changing truth that love is stronger than death, hope is never lost, and God’s light can pierce even the deepest darkness. The empty tomb is not simply a moment in history — it is a living promise that the power of the Resurrection is at work in our world and in our lives today.
On this first Easter, the risen Jesus met His followers in ways that were both deeply personal and profoundly transformative. Mary Magdalene heard her name spoken with tenderness, and in that moment, grief gave way to joy. The travelers to Emmaus felt their hearts burn as He walked beside them, revealing Himself in the breaking of bread. The disciples, hiding in fear, received His peace and the courage to go forth. These encounters remind us that the Resurrection is not only a cosmic victory over death, but also an intimate meeting of God with each of us in our own struggles, doubts, and hopes.
Therefore, to live as Easter people is to let this truth shape our daily lives. It means choosing compassion when indifference feels easier, offering forgiveness when resentment tempts us, and standing with courage when fear urges us to remain silent. It is trusting that even in seasons of loss or uncertainty, God is already planting seeds of renewal and new beginnings.
Easter is not the end of the story — it is the beginning of a new chapter. The stone has been rolled away, not only from Jesus’ tomb, but from every place in our hearts where hope has been sealed away. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is alive in us, calling us to rise from our own tombs of regret, fear, and doubt.
Let us, in this Easter, walk forward with hearts ablaze, carrying the light of the Resurrection into every corner of our lives. May we live as witnesses to the truth that love always has the final word, hope always finds a way, and life — in Jesus Christ — is forever victorious.
Happy Easter. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.

Help Not Harm: Support Bill C-218
You are invited to visit HelpNotHarmCanada.ca to respectfully contact your federal Member of Parliament, urging them to support Bill C-218 (The Right to Recover Act). This legislation would amend the Criminal Code to ensure that Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) is not extended to individuals who have mental illness. Without this amendment, MAiD will be available for mental illness alone beginning in March 2027. A vote is expected to take place mid-April 2026. Visit HelpNotHarmCanada.ca today and ask your MP to support Bill C-218.
